Advice from the Crown of Africa experience: "Summit -- Layer up, polypro long underwear, a fleece middle, and Gore-Tex outer. A balaclava and warm hat will protect the head and liner gloves, windstopper gloves and overmitts protect your hands. Because summit day begins at midnight or 1:00am, you will need a headlamp. Glacier glasses will keep you from snow blindness when you reach those snows of Kilimanjaro."
